Lore Primer
The Wheel of Time, distilled for players at the table.
Where the saga meets the table
War of the Dragon adapts Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time — a fourteen-novel saga with more than 2,700 named characters — into a two-player asymmetric duel. One player commands the Dragon Reborn, Rand al'Thor, and the forces of the Light; the other controls the Forsaken and the forces of the Shadow.
The Wheel has seven spokes for seven Ages, turned by the One Power to weave the Pattern of the world. You do not need to have read the books to play, but knowing a few load-bearing ideas — the Dragon, the One Power, the Westlands map, and the Last Battle — makes every action on the board read as story. The three primers below cover exactly that, and each one points back to the system it maps to.
